“Star Trek Beyond” beams up five new posters

Paramount Pictures’ third installment of the J.J. Abrams-produced “Star Trek” film franchise has gone above and “Beyond” for four of its characters, giving them their own individual one-sheets, in addition to a new international teaser poster. The film opens across the Philippines on July 20.

Getting the star treatment are new character Jaylah (Sofia Boutella) and returning favorites Spock (Zachary Quinto), Bones (Karl Urban) and Chekov (Anton Yelchin).

The highly anticipated next installment in the globally popular Star Trek franchise, created by Gene Roddenberry and reintroduced by J.J. Abrams in 2009, returns with director Justin Lin (“The Fast and the Furious” franchise) at the helm of this epic voyage of the U.S.S. Enterprise and her intrepid crew. In “Beyond,” the Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a mysterious new enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.

“Star Trek Beyond” reunites Jon Cho, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin. Idris Elba, Sofia Boutella, Lydia Wilson and Joe Taslim are joining the cast. The film’s writers are Roberto Orci & John D. Payne & Patrick Mckay; and Douglas Jung & Simon Pegg.
