In Photos: The 80s made a comeback in Manila with The Jets concert

The Jets made their way to Manila once again for a one night concert at the newly opened Kia Theater at the Araneta Center, Cubao. Still hot with their 80s vibe, sans the sky high hair and shoulder pads–here are photos in action of the Grammy nominated family band from Minnesota, performing their chart-topping hits including “Rocket 2 U,” “You Got It All,” and “Make It Real.”

The Jets
The Jets performed live on November 6, 2015 at the Kia Theater in Cubao. It was also a celebration of their 30th anniversary in the business.
The Jets
The Jets, composed of 7 siblings from the Wolfgramm family, opened their set at 9 in the evening inside the Kia Theater. The Polynesian supergroup was greeted warmly by their Filipino audience. In the picture are lead vocalists Moana (L) and Natalia (R).

The Jets
The Jets showed how to dance to 80s music. The band played through several of their chart-topping fast songs including “Curiosity,” and “Rocket 2 U.” They also played a couple of songs from their new album.

The Jets
Celebrity host Rovilson Fernandez and his friends were among the audience who danced through the hit singles of The Jets. The band unceasingly showed their affinity with the Filipino fans, from having several Filipino “titos” to eating balut. They were also very grateful for the warmth and care that their Pinoy crew has shown them during the concert.
The Jets
Midway through their set, The Jets would pluck lucky fans from the crowd to sing and dance with them on stage. Among the ballad songs they performed were “Anytime,” “Make It Real,” and “You Got It All.” The latter song’s popularity was extended through the 90s and 2000s when it was covered by Britney Spears and local band MYMP. The band also played “Same Love,” which was a special performance from the group because, per Moana, it is one of their most requested songs from Pinoy fans all over the world.

Here’s a fan who went all out when he was asked by Moana to dance for them on stage. The band invited several other lucky fans to join them on stage.
The Jets
A very entertaining dance off between The Jets and several members of the audience. The band played their hit dance songs “Curiosity,” “Rocket 2 U,” and “Crush On You.” The latter became a huge hit in the 80s, resurfacing again in the late 90s when it was covered by a then very young Aaron Carter.
The Jets
The Jets ended their song concert with a very wonderful performance of “Make It Real.” After much prodding from their fans, they went back for an encore, performing “Love Like This.”

The concert was presented by Random Minds Inc.
