Out of the 88 comedians from 55 countries only 20 comedians are left to compete at the 2016 Laugh Factory Funniest Person In The World Contest!
Our very own Alex Calleja is one of the comedians who made it to the next round of the competition.
We are now inching our way to finally having a Pinoy comedian represent in the world stage and Alex is the perfect comedian to represent Pinoy Humor.
Alex is the youngest of ten; a native of Bicol but grew up in Bangkal, Makati and has been married for 20 years to a General’s daughter. It is very clear Alex was destined to become a comedian.
A former professor at AMA and an IT programmer from Accenture; Alex was introduced to Stand-Up Comedy through an office workshop back in 2007. From that day he pursued stand-up comedy.
Alex worked on his jokes at small rooms with fellow comedians building his comedy material and all of his hard work and funny jokes paid off.
From doing gigs around the Philippines, Europe and Asia—Alex was also hired as a comedian and writer at ABS CBN.
He started as one of the writers and host of the hit comedy show Usapang Lalake and he is now a writer for hit ABS CBN shows like Goin’ Bulilit, Showtime and Funny Ka, Pare Ko.
From doing jokes to a handful of people in a small bar in Ortigas, Alex Calleja’s humor has now reached a wider scale—Filipinos now get to enjoy Alex’s humor not only on stage with Comedy Manila but also on national TV through his comedy shows.
Now it’s time for all Filipinos to vote and help Alex Calleja get to the world stage for the whole world to enjoy his jokes that are truly funny and Pinoy.
