‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ rumored to get an extended cut in theaters

Rumors have popped on Reddit, with some people believing that the latest MCU blockbuster Spider-Man: No Way Home (NWH) could be getting an extended cut that would be released in theaters in March.

Reddit user u/Slight-Key3232 posted in the r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit, claiming that they had penciled in a Director’s cut of No Way Home, which was slated to be released second week of March in Indonesia.

u/JohannSchmidt1943, who is a mod of the r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit, apparently talked to the source and believed that it might be true.

We have to take note that tons of users in the r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit have previously shared leaks about different MCU media, like a WandaVision episode stills and old Spider-Man: No Way Home set photos, so it’s not like the sources in this subreddit are completely unreliable. There is a chance that we’ll be seeing an extended cut of No Way Home in theaters this March, and that makes us Spider-Man fans very excited for a little more content we may have missed. But while we are excited to see bonus content for Spider-Man, the discussion on Reddit is a rumor, so we’ll have to take it with a grain of salt for now.

User u/JohannSchmidt1943 commented in the original post and pointed out that we might get about 10 minutes of extra footage for the NWH extended cut.

Maybe we’ll see more of Matt Murdock in action? In the NWH trailer, we saw Matt in a courtroom, being a “really good lawyer,” but we didn’t see any such scene in the actual movie. We might even see Tom Holland’s brother, Harry Holland, on the big screen. In an interview in The Graham Norton Show, Tom says that his younger brother was supposed to make a brief appearance as a burglar that Spider-Man catches, but his only scene was ultimately cut from the film.

While we might see a Spider-Man NWH extended cut in the near future, to say that the film is doing well right now is a huge understatement. In fact, No Way Home has already passed James Cameron’s Avatar as the third highest-grossing film of all time, as of February. That’s absolutely insane, especially considering the fact that we are quite frankly still in a pandemic, and not everyone is willing to go out and see a movie in cinemas.

But again, take note: these are rumors so it’s not guaranteed, meaning we’ll just have to wait and see if there will actually be an extended cut of No Way Home heading to the big screen.
