Get a haircut, check out some kicks: The Sideburns Barberdashery experience

(Editor’s Note): Small businesses play an important role in our economy because they provide opportunities for our local entrepreneurs, as well as sustainable and meaningful livelihood for many of their hired workforce. This is why the editorial team of POP! will be actively featuring small businesses to give them the marketing push they need to reach a wider audience. Let’s help our local entrepreneurs bounce back this year!

“Take risk or lose the chance.” This is what Ivan Nicolo Cruz, the owner of the shop, had in mind when he started his hair salon business in Plaridel, Bulacan. Sideburns Barberdashery came to life through the vision of the owner, who wanted to have his own business that’s anchored to his personal preferences. More than having to achieve his dream, he wanted to be of good service to people who share the same interests as him.

Originally a sneaker and clothing store, the owner decided to build a hair salon instead after realizing that selling items such as sneakers and clothing could already be done online. He wanted to build a business in which he could personally connect to people. He intends to give a service that his customers would always go back to. According to Ivan, this service “has no expiration, so I really want to give it a shot.”

Apart from haircuts for men and women, Sideburns Barberdashery also gives different hair treatments for both, depending on their needs, such as anti-dandruff treatment, scalp treatment, and Brazilian treatment, to name a few.

However, this hair salon in Bulacan offers more than services that pamper its customers. What sets them apart is that they also do trading and selling of shoes. This is why Sideburns Barberdashery is not only a stop for people who want to feel and look good, but also a place for sneakerheads to check out.

When it comes to the concept of the hair salon, Sideburns Barberdashery claims to be “the one and only vintage-themed barbershop located in Plaridel, Bulacan where you can have a complete pampering experience.” Aside from having a nice and comfortable atmosphere, Ivan also believes that it’s “a place where you can have a good conversation and feel a good vibe.”

On that note, it seems like the hair salon values their customers more than ever, as Ivan admitted himself that he’s also an “avid customer” of this kind of business. “We take pride [in] our quality and complete satisfying craft of our barber in every customer. Every customer is treated like a King or Queen. We pamper our customers and make them feel [like] they’re ready to face the world again,” the owner shares.

Furthermore, leaving a good first impression is something that the hair salon was very conscious of. Ivan hopes that Sideburns Barberdashery will be remembered as “one of the greatest to ever do it.”

Sideburns Barberdashery appears to be a promising hair salon – from their goals, vision, services, up to their treatment of their customers. Best to try them out yourself. You can visit them at JLM Building in Brgy. Culianin Plaridel, Bulacan, or contact them  via Facebook  or via Instagram.
