#RIPChrisPratt is trending, he’s not dead just canceled

The hashtag #RIPChrisPratt has been trending on Twitter, but it’s not exactly clear why.

It seems like internet users have decided to collectively cancel the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star. While there is no specific instance that triggered the creation of the hashtag, it did surface some old tweets that allegedly came from Pratt’s profile. The screenshots display racist and misogynistic comments.

[UPDATE 02/06] A representative of Pratt came out to clarify that the circulating tweets are believed to be fabricated. According to his spokesperson, the offensive posts are completely false and defamatory as they never existed on his page.

Pratt was previously voted as the Worst Chris in Hollywood for his possible right-wing stance and association with a homophobic church. His fellow Marvel cast members quickly came to his defense following the controversy. Among them were his on screen love interest, Zoe Saldana, and Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr.

Although it’s been a few months since the issue broke out, MCU fans haven’t forgotten about Pratt’s problematic attributes. People have been hopping on the hashtag to remind everyone why he’s the Worst Chris. But probably the best part about #RIPChrisPratt are the memes that have come out of it.
