K-pop star Jennie from BLACKPINK has just become one of the fastest people to hit 1 million subscribers on YouTube.
In just seven hours of her channel’s creation, Jennie had already reached such a huge milestone. Her account, Jennierubyjane Official, was recently launched on her 25th birthday. The channel’s first video titled “Hello world. From Jennie” features her covering ‘When Will My Life Begin?’ from Disney’s Tangled. The BLACKPINK member filmed a short clip for the introduction, explaining that she wanted to release the video as a way to celebrate her birthday with her fans. Jennie has amassed 4.4 million subscribers as of writing.
In addition to her celebration, Jennie received an early birthday gift as she became the first female K-pop artist to hit 600 million views on her song, ‘Solo’.
Jennie joins the ranks of other female solo music artists on YouTube like Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Billie Eilish, and Rihanna. As part of her girl group, BLACKPINK currently takes the lead as most subscribed female artist on the video sharing platform, with 55.9 million subscribers. It’s just about time until her channel grows to reach that same mark.
