Podcasting is one of the new trends that is slowly emerging these days from comedy and self-help to different forms of entertainment. One of the newest podcasts that just launched is the Song In Focus that is hosted by OPM veteran singer-songwriter Acel and up-and-coming indie artist Denice Lao.
The Song In Focus podcast is a very straightforward show that focuses on one song per episode and dives deep into the different layers that make up a song. This includes how it was made and how it evolved over the years since its release. Its pilot episodes feature a diverse set of artists including OPM institutions Sponge Cola and Yeng Constatino to the new generation top artists like Clara Benin.
Other than going back to the facts behind the song, the podcast was also able to open up the hearts of the artists on how they feel about the song then and now. The episodes also had a mix of emotional and funny stories and banters that humanizes the way we see artists and their relationship to their music. Another portion to note is that the show caps off each episode with what they call “Focused Sessions” where hosts Acel and Denice reflect on the interviews and give their take showcasing viewpoints from different generations of musicians.
The Song In Focus podcast is produced by Passion Fruit Collaborations and Payong Musikero and is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Anchor and more.
