According to Republic Act (R.A.) 10173, the Data Privacy Act of 2012 aims to protect the fundamental human right of privacy, of communication while ensuring free flow of information to promote innovation and growth.
For the first part of the webinar, Atty. Christian G. Villasis, a Certified Data Protection Officer, will discuss the Five Pillars of Data Privacy Compliance and Rights of a Data Subject. This be followed by Data Subject, Data Processing, Types of information, Personal Information Processors (PIP) and Personal Information Controllers (PIC), and Data Privacy Principles led by Atty. Paul Cayetano L. Cabatingan, a Professional Data Privacy Consultant. The last speaker would be Mr. Samuel A. Merjudio, a Data Privacy Specialist, who will talk about Cases of Domestic and International Data Breaches.
This seminar isn’t just for law students and law practitioners.
