The Walking Dead to conclude after 11 seasons

AMC Studio’s The Walking Dead is set to conclude its final story-arc by next year, after trying to stay alive for 11 seasons.

The announcement was revealed in a statement issued by the production studio.

The show will be getting 31 more episodes including the season 10 finale which has not been released due to the coronavirus pandemic along with six more episodes. Season 11 will have a series high of 24 episodes to cap off what has been one of the most popular shows in the last decade.

Everybody jumped on the zombie bandwagon since TWD first aired on television in 2010, and a huge part of this success wasn’t just the brain dead gore fans of the zombie genre have come to know and love. Instead, the show’s true strengths can be attributed to the fact that it featured an interesting set of characters with a deep and compelling storyline, which ultimately breathed new life to what was a dying genre.

However, as the seasons went on, a lot of fans from the series grew tired of some of the shows ‘uninspired’ plot lines and continuous mistreatment of some of the show’s beloved characters. As a result, the series that was once the highest-rated show on television has become one of the latest shows that long-time viewers got tired of.

TWD still had a great 11 season run considering the huge amount of series being put out today, and for the fans who decided to stay around longer, don’t worry there is still plenty more in store for the franchise.

A series spin-off that involves Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier, who are some of the show’s fan favorites, will be getting their own character-centered series set to debut in 2023. If that isn’t enough, there will also be The Walking Dead: The World Beyond which is set to make its debut on October 4, and Season 6 of Fear the Walking Dead premiering a week later.

The Walking Dead’s season 10 continuation is scheduled to release on October 4 and the season will feature six more episodes early next year before its final season.
