Despite their share of detractors, a blogger in Russia and her 20-year-old stepson got married last week.
Marina Balmasheva, 35, was previously married to her partner Vladimir Shavirin’s father, Alexey Shavirin, for 13 years.
The couple tied the knot on July 11 in what she described as an “ordinary” wedding to her 450,000 Instagram followers.
The newlyweds are expecting their first child together, with Balmasheva about 12 weeks in the family way.
Balmasheva was in a plain black dress, while Vladimir wore a pink shirt and shorts during their civil wedding. It was only the two of them and his mother who were in attendance, as per Russian news site Starhit.
The blogger earned her online following while documenting her weight-loss journey.
Alexey Shavirin has two kids from a previous partner, one of whom is Vladimir. During his marriage to Balmasheva, they adopted five kids, all of whom are under the custody of Alexey.
Balmasheva’s relationship stirred controversy when both she and Alexey appeared on Russian talk show “Pryamoy Efir” (On Air) via in March.
Alexey claimed she slept with his son while they were still married, but Balmasheva denied this, stating that she and Vladimir only saw each other after the divorce. She also said she never loved Alexey.
The blogger clarified too that she met Vladimir when he was 7 years old and only saw him again when he was 16. She said he never called her “mom.” Niña V. Guno /ra
