This stray cat knows its #priorities, points out favorite meal to a stranger

If only our beloved pets could easily communicate with us which food brand they actually prefer then we wouldn’t have to keep up with their finicky appetite all the time. We could just bring them to the supermarket and ask them what they want for dinner—problem solved!

That’s why when he heard the news about this woman who found herself in a purrfectly odd situation, we couldn’t help but wish the same thing. In an article published by Metro UK, Tania Lizbeth Santos Coy Tova—a 33-year-old primary teacher from Mexico—was just taking a casual stroll in the neighborhood when she noticed a stray cat across the street.

After a few moments, Tova decided to give the feline a pat on the head. But the cat just got up and started leading her to a nearby grocery store. When they got inside, this furry stranger went straight to the food section and pointed at the meal he wanted.

Speaking to Metro, Tova knew it was hungry.

“He got in between our steps as if we were ignoring him, then I paid attention to him and it was when he first guided me to the pet food rack,” explained Tova.

While it sounds like a strange encounter for most of us, the 33-year-old primary teacher mentioned that the cat was a “regular visitor” to that particular area. Every day, it would always sneak in with other customers hoping that one of them would feed him.

“Every time he came to the store, we greeted each other and did the same, he guided me to the shelf and chose the food he wanted,” said Tova.

Curious about its owners, Tova found out that the cat lives on its own in an abandoned house. Upon discovering its pitiful situation, she decided to just adopt it.

“One day I noticed that he had many injuries and I decided to follow him to find out if he had a home. But my companion and I discovered that he did not have a home. He went into an abandoned house. It was then that we decided to adopt him and he currently lives with us. I called him ‘Rabbit’ because of his resemblance to a rabbit.”

Clearly, Rabbit knows his #priorities and even used his skills to not just get the food he wanted but also a place to call home.
