According to Aristotle, human beings are considered “social animals” who naturally build and maintain companionship with other people. This social aspect is a part of the human’s well-being. And even though you avoid close interactions, you still need to socialize–even at a distance–through calling, sending emails and text messaging.
However, people from different countries are compelled to be quarantined and isolated due to the coronavirus outbreak, which limits face-to-face human interactions such as dining out in a restaurant, going to concerts, or having drinks in a bar.
Funnily enough, the Houseparty app went viral recently as it was designed to host an online party with your friends–eliminating the need to go outside. The mobile app can be downloaded on the App Store and the Google Play store. After downloading, you can add your friends listed on Facebook and in your personal contacts. Once they have been added to the online party, you will get a notification that your friend is “in the house” so you can host your online party. The Houseparty can accommodate up to 8 people per call.
The video chatting app also features games such as Heads Up, Pictionary, Quick Draw, and Trivia. Launched in 2016, the app was created by Epic games (the same company that created the video game, Fortnite). Although the game was created 4 years ago, the number of downloads increased by 400,000 worldwide, as of this writing.
People all over the world who have tried the app took to Twitter to share their reviews:

The gals & I did virtual happy hour tonight and it was wonderful in light of everything that’s going on right now. Nice to just chat with friends & enjoy a beverage. Highly recommend the HouseParty app if people want to video chat with multiple people at once. pic.twitter.com/Pkq48ItlDk

Used the Houseparty app for a neighbours knees up last night. It’s great and easy to use. You can play games and quizzes on it. Connected with folk in Berlin, Barcelona and Bogotá. Gonna start linking up with folk I’ve lost touch with over the past busy years 2/2 pic.twitter.com/YGPc3xybfP
