Potterheads may recall Dobby as the stubborn yet caring house-elf who always found a way to help Harry Potter. His refusal to follow Lucius Malfoy in the second film and self-sacrifice in Deathly Hallows Part I made him a favorite among fans.
But as many of you know, Dobby’s story didn’t start out well–he was constantly abused by the Malfoy household. But things obviously changed when the “boy who lived” saved him by giving him a sock. It was then that Dobby became a “free elf” and found his home with Harry Potter and his friends.
Much like the J.K. Rowling’s mythical character, this Dobby look-alike dog is in need of a place she can call home.
With big ears, a long nose, and slim features, this Greyhound named Tessa bears a similar resemblance to the Potterheads’ favorite elf.
Tessa was found as a stray by the Dogs Trust West London Rehoming Centre. Because of this, the organization has no knowledge of her history. In spite of this, she adapted well to the other dogs in the center and is said to be “a firm favorite amongst the team,” according to the Dogs Trust website.
Tessa is reportedly somewhere between the ages of 2 to 5 years old and is child-friendly. She needs a home “that can help her flourish and continue to come out of her shell,” as “new indoor environments” can still be “quite worrying” for her.
However, interested pet owners need not worry as Tessa is said to have a “gentle nature” and can be quite playful. Fur parents who are interested in the Dobby-like doggo may visit the Dogs Trust website here.
Here’s to hoping Tessa finds her forever home just as Dobby did in the Harry Potter franchise!
