A two-day-old puppy who fell down and got stuck in a floor drain was rescued by a group of plumbers last Saturday, March 7.
The Brisbane Plumbers received a call asking to help the animal at around 10 p.m. in Brisbane, Australia, as seen on their Instagram page on March 8.
When the animal’s owner called them, she told them that “[her] puppy has fallen down the floor drain and is stuck!” The plumbers initially did not believe her call for help, saying that they thought it was a prank.
However, they still decided to respond to the call and later realized that the woman was not lying. Upon reaching her home, the workers used a CCTV camera to locate the animal in the bathroom drain so they could safely cut it without harming the puppy.
After cutting the portion where the pet was stuck in, the plumbers began trying to free it. The rescue was no easy experience for the animal who was recorded crying until it was released, as seen in a separate video posted on the plumber group’s Instagram page.
The men initially tried to pull the pet out by its feet but were unsuccessful. This prompted them to shake the pipe in a downward motion until the puppy finally slid out.
“It was pretty amazing that this little fella lasted over an hour in the drain and still managed to survive,” the group noted after the rescue.
They added that the newly-rescued puppy had no name yet.
“The kids wanted to call it ‘Lucky’ but the Dad said it would be called ‘Dollars’ because in his words ‘This puppy has cost me a sh*t load of money,’” the group narrated in jest. “Although he did say it was money well spent.” JB
