Nicki Minaj has been working on an exciting fashion project with Fendi, which was helmed by the late designer Karl Lagerfeld until his passing this February.
The rapper took to Instagram to share a sneak peek of her upcoming “Fendi Prints On” collection for the Italian house. The series will reportedly launch online on Oct. 14.
The images posted by Minaj, which were taken by Steven Klein for Elle Magazine, hint at a vibrant collection featuring hot pink dresses, puffa jackets, a metallic silver bikini top, pencil skirt, jacket, a cutaway swimsuit, a hoodie featuring Minaj’s face and several bags. The label’s signature monogrammed logo is heavily present throughout.
“For a long time we’ve wanted to do something together and we’ve been busy following up on what Karl wanted to do with us, such as the couture show in Rome,” Fendi’s chairman and chief executive officer Serge Brunschwig said of the house’s collaboration with Minaj. “She is a great artist and one of the best rappers. Fendi shares great affinity with her. She represents one of Fendi’s dimensions, the fun aspect of the brand and she will present it extremely well.”
Rumors of a Minaj-Fendi collaboration first started flying earlier this summer, when the rapper posted a photo of herself wearing a furry neon pink outfit from the luxury label, alongside the caption: “All I’ll say is dreams really do come true. #FendiPrintsOn#ThatIsAFendiFakk coming soon.” RGA/JB
