For many couples, the wedding experience is made complete with photos that capture every special moment of their big day. Hiring wedding photographers is practically a must, with brides and grooms willing to fork over extra cash for perfect pictures.
One wedding photographer from Texas demonstrated with a set of photos what it looks like when guests want to take personal photos of the wedding. The pictures on Facebook shared on Thursday, July 11, show hands holding up an iPhone sticking out in the aisle, photobombing a shot of the bride walking with her father.
Hannah Stanley said on Facebook: “Not only did you ruin my shot, but you took this moment away from the groom, father of the bride, and the bride.”
“What exactly do you plan on doing with that photo? Honestly. Are you going to print it out? Save it? Look at it [every day]? No. You’re not.”
“Guests, please stop viewing weddings you attend through a screen but instead turn OFF your phone, and enjoy the ceremony,” she advised.
Several concurred with her point, with the post gaining 95,000 likes and 114,000 shares.
Some couples have gone as far as having an “unplugged wedding” so that everyone can be fully present during the event rather than on their phones. After all, that phone picture will only go on Instagram—if it does at all—but official wedding photos will be treasured by the couple for life. /ra
