LOOK: Old Pokémon cards being sold for as high as P346,000 online

Catching all Pokémon cards was a huge part of most nineties kids’ childhood. But it has now become possible to make money out of these cards, as some of them have been sold for £5,300 (over P340,000) on eBay.

While some cards are more valuable than the others, the most valuable Pokémon cards come from 1999 to 2000, as reported by The Sun last Saturday, June 22.

These valuable cards are called “shadowless,” said 21st-century collectibles expert Tracy Martin in the report. She said what makes “shadowless” cards different from other Pokémon cards are the design change. The more valuable cards were printed before the company’s redesign move, which added a shadow on the right side of the cards.

The collectibles expert added that Pokémon cards with the first edition stamp sell for a higher price.

Martin also laid out tips for people who are interested in selling their Pokémon cards. According to the collectibles expert, interested sellers should check online auction sites to determine the prices for their cards based on the cards’ age and condition. JB
