We often associate the holiday season with images of good old Santa Claus, the Nutcracker, and thick layers of snow. Sadly, in a tropical country like the Philippines, it’s impossible to experience those dreamlike winter days.
Thankfully, American master illusionist Steve Wheeler, along with his production team, was here to take us to the world of frozen dreams called “Magic on Ice.”
Divided into 23 acts, “Magic on Ice” follows the adventure of “The Voyager”, played by Wheeler, and his spirit companions, “the Seekers.”
The Big Dome, which is an indoor multi-purpose arena, was transformed into a giant ice skating rink where you could see ice skaters perform magic and acrobatic tricks.
Apart from the jaw-dropping illusions that left the audience at the edge of their seats, the show’s protagonist also asked the kids to come down to the ice to perform onstage with them.
With a series of grand illusions and death-defying stunts, “Magic on Ice” has surely enthralled millions of people in 200 cities around the globe. And just last year, we were lucky enough to witness the excitement of magic, as well as the beauty of figure skating.
Magic On Ice is extended until January 6, 2019, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
