Japanese band Hey! Say! JUMP treated Hong Kong fans to a show-stopping live performance for this year’s THE MUSIC DAY Songs for You music event.
For its 6th year, GEM TV Asia brought its biggest annual music event to Hong Kong—the first time they’re doing it outside Japan—with a live performance from Hey! Say! JUMP. The nine-member band comprising Ryosuke Yamada, Yuri Chinen, Yuto Nakajima, Keito Okamoto, Daiki Arioka, Yuya Takaki, Kei Inoo, Hikaru Yaotome and Kota Yabu, greeted and played with fans during an exclusive fan meet before their live performance.
During the fan meet, Hong Kong fans’ knowledge about their idols were put to a test. Several lucky handpicked fans who got to answer correctly received goodies from GEM and got to play “Jan-Ken-Pon,” or Japan’s version of “Rock, Paper, Scissors” with each member of Hey! Say! JUMP.
Fans screamed with excitement as the members of Hey! Say! JUMP entered the room and greeted them in Cantonese. Each member had a quirky introduction about themselves and answered several fan questions about the group.
After the game, all the fans lined up and got a chance to high five each member of the band and take a group photo with them.

On the afternoon, eager fans flocked outside to watch Hey! Say! JUMP despite the drizzle of rain. Hey! Say! JUMP didn’t disappoint when they performed their hit songs “Weekender,” “Hitomi no Screen,” “Come On A My House”.
In an interview, Hey! Say! JUMP members said that they were hoping to have an Asian Tour so they’ll be able to reach more international fans.
