We are lucky that we live at a time where being fashionable can be achieved without breaking the bank. A quick visit to places like H&M and Forever21 have made looking “on point” easy and affordable. However, not all clothes are made the same. In an age where brands are pressured to come up with new stuff to excite consumers, quality suffers as a result. Your new bag’s straps fall off after two months, t-shirts stretch after a few rounds in the washing machine, and cute pink heels look banged up after a year. With brands making it harder to resist trendy pieces on a budget, how can we tell that we’ll get more than one use when we buy an item? Lucky for us, the internet has answers.
Justine Leconte is a fashion designer based in Berlin who owns a womenswear label. Aside from working on her label, Justine talks about fashion on her YouTube channel. Most of her videos are about specific styles of fashion, fashion trends, and fashion history. Because of her background, she can also make how to-style videos on just about anything related to fashion.
Below are three of her videos which help the average consumer identify quality clothes, bags, and shoes. Let these serve as guide while hunting for your next purchase.
How to recognize poor vs. good quality in clothes (in 5 points)
