With over 220 exhibitors and 11,000 visitors from 90 countries, this year’s theme of Connecting People and Innovations in the Asian entertainment industry sheds light on the regional developments and the evolving market trends in gaming, integrated resorts, and digital content and technology as discussed by high-level industry leaders, influencers, and experts.

Mr Lawrence Ho, Chairman and CEO Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited, officially inaugurated the event by sharing their company’s distinctive, beyond-gaming approach.

His keynote message was an accurate prelude to his introduction to the three key areas which will be discussed throughout the three-day conference.

The first day focused on The Future of Gaming where industry leaders gave an in-depth look into the untapped gaming scene in countries such as Japan, Russia, Nepal, and Thailand, discussing the unique opportunities and challenges that each of these markets bring to the industry.

The Future of Integrated Resorts, on the other hand, paved the way to a better understanding of the Integrated Resort Technology & Business Solutions, which featured a display of the newest IR products, technologies and services that drive revenue from non-gaming sources.

Finally, top executives shared key insights about the role of digital content and technology and its impact to the gaming industry during the panel discussions on The Future of Digital Content & Technology.

All of these topics point to the primary focus of G2E Asia—the need to go beyond gaming. Serving as a platform for networking, learning, and sourcing for the gaming industry, this year’s edition suggests that though the bulk of integrated resorts revenue come from gaming, there are in fact other business opportunities like entertainment, shopping, and tourism experiences that can be explored.

The aim is to cater to the Asian market—particularly the Chinese consumers—through understanding current trends and consumer behavior. At the same time, the conference aimed to educate its attendees how to capture the attention of leisure travelers by showing them that the gaming industry has much to offer for their entertainment and travel needs.

Presented by the American Gaming Association and organized by Reed Exhibitions, the annual G2E Asia Conference is slated to return next year at The Venetian Macao on May 21 to 23.
