Idol Philippines Season 2 alum Jarea Ifurung has clapped back at people criticizing her look at the recent ABS-CBN Ball.
Several commenters were unimpressed with her outfit at the event, even reacting with ‘haha’ emojis on her photo.
Ifurung addressed the comments on her official account, writing, “Ang hirap pala when you don’t meet other people’s standards, no? [It’s really hard when you don’t meet other people’s standards, right?]”
“But hey, that’s part of my journey. I’m just starting. And yes, nasasaktan din akoooo!!!! tao lang din ako. [I also get hurt, I’m just human.]”
The singer also went to the comments to address the hate that she has been getting and wrote, “I’m honestly so tired of always having to defend myself. If people want to talk and make me their clownnnn, go ahead.”
“But one thing I’ll never apologize for is having a good heart. Because no matter what, that’s something no one can take away from me,” she continued.
Ifurung then reminded everyone to be careful with their words and actions as “sometimes, hate builds up so quietly, you don’t even notice you’re already living in misery.”
She ended her comment by stating, “If this is a joke for everyone, then it’s a blessing for me to be here. Because I’m winning in ways you’ll never understand.”
People took to the comments section of her photo to defend her on the amount of hate that she has been receiving.
One user wrote, “Ang lala ng ibang pinoy dito. Grabe!!! Imbis na suportahan, kabaliktaran nangyayari. She earned it kaya nandiyan siya. Napakatalentado nitong tao na to. Kung wala magandang sasabihin, tahimik nalang. Akala niyo ang peperpekto niyo. Peace and love sa bawat isa [Some Filipinos here are bad. Extreme!!! Instead of supporting, the opposite is happening. She earned it that’s why she’s there. This woman is so talented. If you have nothing good to say, just keep quiet. You all thought you all are perfect. Peace and love to everyone].
“It’s ok na di niyo siya kilala pero [It’s okay that you don’t know her but] you don’t need to say harsh words towards her, she’s there for a reason and for me that’s already a one up than anyone of us not at the ball,” a second user wrote.
A third user wrote, “People with negative comments here, akala mo mga invited din sa event and apektado sila sa suot ni Jarea [as if they are invited at the event and are affected by the outfit of Jarea]! Shame on you people!!!!”
