Filipino Carat invites co-fan from daily bus rides to coffee, draws attention online

Nowadays, with the influence of social media and ‘stan culture,’ forming friendships based on shared interests has become common.

A Filipino Carat, a fan of the K-pop group SEVENTEEN, shared an adorable encounter with a fellow fan that quickly caught the attention of many. The original poster (OP) shared a short video that showed photocard holders peeking out of another passenger’s bag.

They then revealed that they had been riding the same bus with the co-fan every day for a year but never had the chance to talk. Finally, they decided to break the ice by inviting the co-fan for coffee.

Ateng Carat na everyday ko kasabay sa bus, gusto mo ba breakfast tayo one time halos isang taon na tayo nagkakasabay araw araw sa bus pero nagsisilipan lang tayo ng poca lagi, [Ate Carat, who I ride the bus with every day, do you want to have breakfast together sometime? We’ve been riding the bus together almost every day for nearly a year, but we just keep sneaking glances at each other like we’re shy],” the user wrote.

Later on, it appears the post reached its intended audience, as the person featured in the video introduced themselves to the original poster.

The two Carats connected in the replies section, sharing how they had both been too shy to start a conversation, especially given that their bus rides always took place in the early morning.

The post caught the attention of many Carats, who reacted warmly to the cute interaction between the two fans.

Others also shared their own experiences of spotting fellow fans while commuting.

In a recent update, the two Carats finally met up, bonding over coffee and sharing their collections of photocards.

This heartwarming encounter goes to show that connections can truly spark through shared passions and interests, even in the most unexpected places.
