Booksale is about to enter a ‘new chapter’ as they close some of their branches here in the country.
In an official statement from the bookstore’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Josh Sison which was posted on their Facebook page, the post reads, “As we enter a new chapter in our bookstore’s story, we want to take a moment to thank you, our loyal readers.”

“While some of our branches are closing, we’re excited to continue finding new and creative ways to make reading affordable and accessible as we have done so far for the past 35 years,” Sison added.
Although some of their branches are closing, he assured that there are “exciting plans” ahead and that they cannot wait for them to share it with everyone.
Social media users took to the comments section of the post to share their thoughts about the closing of some of the bookstore’s branches.
One user wrote, “Please don’t go extinct, Booksale. Your branches in South Cotabato and Mandaluyong are some of my happiest places. I make it a point to visit a Booksale shop whenever I’m home. I have a small collection of hard bounds from Booksale. Long may you live!”
“Only Bibliophiles will understand the loss. It’s so sad that many people now have turned into the digital world and videos. But books really matter and I will never be who I am now without the books I read since I was young. I became a writer because of my love for books. Thank you Booksale,” a second user wrote.
A third user wrote, “Thank you, Booksale, for making books affordable and accessible to Filipinos. You’ve played a significant role in nurturing my love for reading. Wishing you growth and success so you can inspire even more readers across the nation!”
