Zamboanga del Sur Electric Cooperative Inc. II (Zamsureco) Buug sub-office became a subject of public scrutiny after posting a ‘gaslighting’ publication material on Facebook last October 25, 2024.
On the Facebook post of the Zamsureco II – Buug sub-office, they said that the strong winds caused posts to fall, and they are working on it.
“Many posts have fallen in various places due to the strong winds earlier. Please be patient and don’t get angry because we are working for you; we are not just sitting around like you,” the post reads.
Social media users on Facebook had mixed reactions to the post, some commented that the electric cooperative was ‘gaslighting’ consumers, and some responded in a sarcastic manner.
“Thank you for doing your JOB. We’ll continue sitting around while waiting for you to finish your job with utmost urgency,” one commenter said.
Another commenter said, “This is so unsightly and unprofessional coming from an official and supposedly respectable institution.”
Tons of Facebook users demanded the cooperative to give “professional” and “respectful” updates in handling such incidents.
“Be respectful, admin, because that’s your job. It’s also normal for us to complain because you guys always update us super late,” one commenter said.
Some users also poked fun at the post by commenting silly and unserious lines such as pertaining to the post as a motivational quote.
“CORRECT ANG BEHAVIOR! KWEEN THINGS HAHAHAHAHA,” one commenter said.
Another comment said, “Ay sorry naman po, nagaslight pa kam[i]. Kam[i] nal[an]g magaayos tapos upo kayo. [Oh, we’re sorry, we were gaslighted. Let us fix it, then you just sit.]”
