TikTok user Trionkwentos has ignited a stir online with content that blatantly violated the transportation authority’s rules.
On August 28, the TikTok user posted a content titled ‘Random Train Dates,’ where he and his team set up a table on LRT 2, complete with two glasses and a candle. After setting up, he offered a cake snack to a random passenger seated beside him.
He then posted an additional update to this content three days ago, featuring another passenger. This time, a guard noticed what he was doing, prompting him to cut the video short. He wrote, “Kung di man tayo tinadhana dito, sana sa susunod na tren ay muling makasama [If we weren’t destined to meet here, I hope we can be together again in the next train.]”
On September 9, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) issued a statement regarding the controversial content. The management clarified that Trionkwentos’ videos were not authorized and violated the rules of the said public transportation.
“Such activities are strictly prohibited on LRTA premises and facilities,” the statement read.
The LRTA then called content creators to act responsibly and respect other passengers. They also confirmed that appropriate actions will be taken against violators, including content creators like him who breach the rules.
The content in question, which has garnered more than 200 thousand views and 12,000 likes, did not sit well with some social media users and received significant criticism. Many have expressed concerns about the appropriateness of the video and the potential disruption it has caused to other passengers.
However, he seemed unfazed by these comments and even replied to some users.
“Bawal kumain sa train [It’s not allowed to eat inside the train],” one user said to which he replied, “Hirap mong pasayahin [It’s hard to make you happy.]
Another user wrote, “Viral na to mamaya [This will go viral later],” to which he replied, “Sana po. Para ganahan halo makipag-date sa train. [I hope so. So I’ll feel more encouraged to date on the train.]”
As of this writing, the video is still up on his Facebook and TikTok accounts.
This situation serves as a reminder that, although we have the freedom to create and share content, it is crucial to remember to respect and follow laws and regulations, especially when filming in public areas.
At this point, it’s safe to say that we are already aware of this; some just tend to ignore it.
