Iconic 90s show ‘Art Attack’ reportedly set to return after 17 years

After a 17-year hiatus, the iconic 90s show Art Attack is returning to television screens with a brand new host.

Television personality and comedian, Romesh Ranganathan will be at the helm as the new host for the reboot.

His production company, Ranga Bee is making the show and labeled it as the “Art Attack for the next generation.”

“Like millions of Brits who grew up in the Nineties and Noughties, Romesh was no doubt a fan of the show,” a source told The Sun.

“So now he’s passing that joy on to the next generation with this modern-day interpretation, which is destined for a major children’s network, probably Children’s BBC.”

“It will be something of a departure for Ranga Bee however as they tend to make comedy shows, usually starring their owner, Mr. Ranganathan, himself.”

The filming for Art Attack is reportedly starting next month and will continue for several months so fans of the iconic show might have to wait until next year to catch the show on their screens.

There is no official announcement yet on whether the original host of the show, Neil Buchanan, will have any involvement in the reboot.

Buchanan has previously said that he would be “open” to returning to the Art Attack world. “It’s funny actually. Just recently I have thought about that sort of thing. It’s the 30th anniversary of Art Attack, so I would be open to that. Of course I would,” he told Metro.

Art Attack is a show that centers around showing kids how to make amazing art pieces while giving super cool tricks and tips so anyone can make these creations in their own home. The show aired for 17 years after airing for the first time on June 15, 1990, and continued its run until May 30, 2011.
