ITZY’s Lia to return from her hiatus this year

ITZY OT5 is back!

JYP Entertainment girl group ITZY just celebrated its fan club’s (MIDZY) 5th anniversary—with all of its members present. This was a first for this year, as it had been known that member Lia had been on hiatus since September 2023 for mental health reasons.

MIDZYs were definitely ecstatic to see all five members during their 5th Fanclub anniversary, titled “GV NIGHT with ITZY” and were obviously emotional at the sight of Lia and her new look.

To add on that good news, JYP Entertainment officially announced that Lia will be joining ITZY on their next comeback that’s slated for this year. JYP Entertainment posted the announcement on the girl group’s fan café shortly after their broadcast. Lia also shared the news herself during the broadcast.

“Hello. This is JYP Entertainment.

This is an announcement regarding ITZY member Lia’s health status and her return to activities.

Following treatment and rest, her tension and symptoms of anxiety have significantly improved.

Therefore, after careful discussion with Lia, it has been decided that she will resume her activities starting with ITZY’s new album, set to be released in the second half of the year.

However, for previously arranged schedules and shoots before the new album release, only four members (Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, Yuna) will be participating. We kindly ask for your understanding.

We sincerely thank the fans who have shown warm encouragement and support for Lia’s recovery.

We remain committed to supporting our artists so that they can meet fans in healthy conditions.

Thank you.”

MIDZYs, who have been long waiting for Lia’s return, quickly shared all their excitement and enthusiasm for the much-awaited OT5 comeback.

Welcome back, Lia! We’ve all been waiting patiently for you, and we wish you all the best in everything!
