Legendary MLBB star ‘OhMyV33NUS’ announces departure from Blacklist International, social media users react

In a heartfelt announcement, Jonmar ‘OhMyV33NUS’ Villaluna, one of the most celebrated figures in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) community, has officially parted ways with Blacklist International. The news shared through a poignant Facebook post, marks the end of a remarkable era for both OhMyV33NUS and the Tier One-backed team.

Reflecting on her journey, OhMyV33NUS shared, “So I left Tier One Entertainment and Blacklist International because I knew I would settle if I chose to stay. When it’s time to go, you can feel it.” Her departure, while significant, comes with a profound sense of self-awareness and readiness for new challenges.

The decision to leave was not taken lightly. In her post, OhMyV33NUS revealed the introspective thoughts that led to her departure. “I realized something very important in my life that I want to share, which is why I no longer feel anxiety about life transitions,” she continued. Her words resonate with a deep understanding of personal growth and the inevitability of change.

Throughout her four-year tenure with Blacklist International, OhMyV33NUS achieved unprecedented success. Under her leadership, the team secured back-to-back championships in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines during the 7th and 8th seasons. Moreover, she guided Blacklist International to victory in the M3 World Championship, a feat immortalized by her signature hero, Estes, being chosen as the championship skin. Her contributions also extended to the international stage, where she led her team to a Gold Medal win at the 31st Southeast Asian Games.

Despite these accolades, the question of identity loomed large for OhMyV33NUS. In a reflective 2 a.m. post, she pondered, “Who is OhMyV33NUS without Blacklist International?” This echoed a similar introspection she experienced in 2020 when transitioning from ONIC Philippines to Blacklist International. “I remember a few years ago when Wise and I had a major transition, I asked myself the same question. I had more anxiety back then and even posted, ‘Who is OHMYV33NUS without Onic?’ Now, at the same time, 2 a.m., with the same thoughts: Who is OHMYV33NUS without Blacklist?”

Her journey with Blacklist International was not without its trials. After the M4 World Championships and MPL PH Season 11, where Blacklist International was defeated by ECHO in the grand finals, OhMyV33NUS took a two-season hiatus from the MLBB professional scene. This period of reflection ultimately led her to a deeper understanding of her potential and aspirations.

“Who is OHMYV33NUS without the trophies and the esports organization that everyone knows? I keep asking myself this question, and the answer is always the same,” she expressed. “I’m at a point in my life where I know there’s something more, a higher version of me deep within. More than I’ve ever accomplished.”

In her farewell message, OhMyV33NUS conveyed her gratitude to all the teams and organizations she has been part of. “Each team and esports organization I’ve worked with before, I’ve always considered them my home. But I realized home is where I go. Home is anyone who cares about me. Home is the name I’ve built for myself: OHMYV33NUS. I’ve always got me, and I will never be afraid no matter where life takes me.”

The departure of OhMyV33NUS is accompanied by the exit of Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo, who also announced his departure from Blacklist International on the same platform. Yue, who played for the team for two years, will also be pursuing new opportunities.

Social media users and fans then poured their support for the gamer’s decision.

As OhMyV33NUS steps into a new chapter of her career, the esports community eagerly anticipates the next phase of her journey. Her legacy with Blacklist International, marked by triumphs and introspection, sets a precedent for future generations of players.
