A Facebook page dedicated to pets called “Pawfectly Good” is calling for responsible feeding of animals.
The group took to their page to shed light on what happened and wrote, “We appreciate the ‘good intention’ of this person who opened a can of sardines and poured it into a paper plate and served it to our furbabies waiting at their food spot and left the can on the floor although the trash bin is just a few steps away.”
They commend the kindness of the people who gave the sardines but not their irresponsibility.
“Please don’t waste our effort and their angels who are sending help for their food. Not only our sacrifices are being disregarded but also of those who would give their support so we could feed the furbabies nutritious food daily,” they added.
They also emphasized in the post that “just because you think that they are ‘stray animals’ doesn’t mean you can feed them with anything.”
“IF you are truly concern, then think of what could happen… Unless, you are willing to pay for their vet bills and foster them when they get sick then please don’t feed them anything unhealthy if you don’t have pet food with you,” they continued.
They are open to volunteers if people want to feed them or people can send them a message and they can recommend a prescribed brand of pet food by their doctors.
The group ended their post reminding people to be more responsible and wrote, “So please be responsible with your actions. Because you might be doing more harm than good to the furbabies. Hoping this time, you will finally understand.”
There is a link within their post in relation to their recent post on ways we can help these furbabies. Their post reads, “1. Do not feed them with sardines and chicken bones. Please! 🙏2. Do not pet them. Please! 🙏3. Do not feed them anywhere. Please! 🙏4. Do not remove their collars and name tags. Please! 🙏”

This is a reminder to be more mindful about what we feed animals as these can harm them in the long run.
