Singer-songwriter Adele, 36, has always been known for her powerful vocals and tear-jerking interactions with fans. And yet, even the 16-grammy winner has buttons that can be pushed.
Adele celebrated Pride Month by having zero tolerance for a fan who yelled ‘Pride sucks!’ during a pause on her performance in “Weekends with Adele” Las Vegas residency show last Saturday. The singer took a moment to acknowledge the beginning of Pride Month when a fan allegedly shouted a homophobic comment.
“You come to my f*cking show and say that Pride sucks, are you f*cking stupid?” In an instant, Adele clapped back and pointed at the person.

“Don’t be so f*cking ridiculous. If you’ve got nothing nice to say, shut up, alright?” she added. The crowd went into a frenzy hearing Adele’s feisty response.
However, a longer version was shared online, and it was showing that the fan yelled “Work sucks!” and not “Pride sucks!” because the singer was talking about working beforehand.

A tweet was also shared by a fan who attended Adele’s show and said: “Hate to defend a m*n but the guy was somewhere behind me and he said “work sucks” not “pride sucks.”
Another fan replied and said: Yeah I was in the section next to him. He said work sucks because she mentioned something about working. It was all very awkward.

And yet other fans have tweeted and said they heard otherwise.
I was sitting a few rows in front of him and it was definitely “Pride”… our whole section was turned around in shock yelling at the jerk. Nothing awkward about it.

Fans may have divided reactions over what happened, whether or not the fan screamed “work” or “pride” but the incident caught on a fan-cam showed Adele’s authenticity and alliance with the LGBTQIA+ community, because on the very moment she heard the homophobic remark, she did not hesitate to talk back and let any queer individual attending her concert feel undefended.
