Social media users mourn loss of ‘I Go Meow’ cat Cala as owner shares emotional tribute

So many people have shared the joy of hearing the “I Go Meow” song that it eventually turned into a TikTok audio creators have made use of. Sadly, the singing cat Cala has passed away because of old age.

On Elizabeth’s previous video of Cala and Kai’s first playdate, she was asked by a follower of Cala’s age.

Recently, Elizabeth shared on their TikTok account that she did not expect Cala to be an adult cat yet. She went on with the full details of Cala’s journey and attached several videos of Cala.

“I adopted Cala thinking she was young with a full life ahead of her,” she wrote.

She also mentioned that Cala was not recovering since she got sick. She was rushed to the emergency room and her veterinarian told her that Cala “was much older than initially thought by the shelter and her vet.”

“Cala ultimately passed away in my arms due to old age,” Elizabeth said.

“She was surrounded by humans who love her,” she added. She thanked everyone for their support and love for Cala.

Many followers were there for Cala when her song went viral, and yet many have shared not just the joys of watching her sing, but also Elizabeth’s loss and grief.

“I’m man enough to admit I’m bawling right now. This cat made me laugh and smile everytime I saw her on my fyp. So sorry for your loss. RIP Cala 😭💔,” One user commented on Elizabeth’s video.

“This cat brought me so much happiness hearing her sing when I was down. I am lost for words. I so sorry for your loss,”another user said.
