TikTok star Maddy Baloy’s loss to cancer at age 26 breaks hearts

Maddy Baloy, a notable figure on TikTok recognized for her candid documentation of her fight against cancer, has passed away at the age of 26. Diagnosed with terminal cancer a year prior, she valiantly made the most of her remaining time, diligently checking off items from her bucket list.

It all began during a routine CT scan in the emergency room, where doctors discovered abnormalities in Baloy’s large intestine, necessitating immediate surgery. Upon commencement, surgeons encountered multiple cancerous tumors exerting pressure on her large intestine.

In a deeply emotional decision, her loved ones opted to postpone sharing the distressing news until Baloy woke up the next morning. In response to all the heavy occurrences happening and after feeling “alone and isolated” due to the news, the influencer decided to create a TikTok account in order to document her journey fighting her condition.

In Baloy’s videos, her strength and determination to make the most of her remaining time is palpable as the TikTok star expresses her thoughts on her account, stating, “My mind shifted, and I was like, ‘I am going to get every ounce of life that I can out of this.’” Her words have resonated deeply with over 440,000 of her followers. She adds, “There’s nothing we can do. So I may as well have some fun.”

The influencer, driven by a desire to savor every moment of her remaining time, curated a bucket list to make the most of her life. During her pursuit, she had the extraordinary opportunity to dine with none other than the esteemed host of Hell’s Kitchen and world-renowned chef, Gordon Ramsay who invited and flew her to join him for the opening of his new restaurant Lucky Cat in South Beach.

She even posted a TikTok video capturing their memorable encounter showing the two dancing to Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years.” In response to the heartwarming moment, Ramsay commented under her video with, “Thank you for teaching me to dance.” Meanwhile, “the post on his account, the caption wrote, “I hope you had the best time.”

Baloy achieved another significant milestone by fulfilling a long-held aspiration: making a guest appearance on the Taylor Squeeze Podcast in February. The opportunity to be a podcast guest was a cherished item on her bucket list. As her journey neared its end, Baloy radiated joy as she posed with Taylor Lautner and his wife, Taylor Dome, capturing the essence of her happy moment.

Baloy worked hard in order to be able to tick off as much off her bucket list as she can. In one of her most beloved TikTok videos, she joyfully shares 19 out of 20 items, including the moment where she got a tattoo with her grandmother.

Around early March, she revealed that hasn’t been able to take a bath in over a year. Explaining how the cancer has now spread “to the entire lower half” of her body. And in her final documented Tiktok, she was featured to go on a trip to Tokyo, Japan.

“I’m in Japan for a very limited amount of time. I’m here on Earth for a limited amount of time, and I don’t want to be afraid to take a bath. So come take a bath with me.” Baloy shared. The video ended with a shot of her having a bubble bath.

In a recent interview with People, Baloy’s fiancé expressed his thoughts of her, stating, “She is so special.” Reflecting on his 27th birthday, he shared, “I was holding her hand all day, and that’s all I needed.” He ensured everyone with profound sadness yet a sense of peace, “Madison passed away peacefully last night, surrounded by love.”
