K-pop fans’ reactions to Lucas’ debut single ‘Renegade’ clash

Lucas has made his return to the K-Pop scene with his debut record, “Renegade,” with the title track of the same name.

The Hong Kong rapper dropped his debut album on April 1, 2024, at 6 P.M. KST on all streaming platforms. His title track, “Renegade,” is described by SM Entertainment as a “rock-based hip-hop song that embodies the ambition to pursue one’s own path without hesitation, embracing change for a better direction and a stronger inner self.”

The lyrics of “Renegade” express Lucas’ determination to live and direct his life in his own way, no matter what the haters say. Lucas released two music videos—Plan A sees him in a press conference, as if referencing to his past controversies, and Plan B.

Lumis were most definitely impressed with Lucas’ tracks, expressed pride in his “powerful rap” and delivery, and clocked on the haters with the “diss” track. They were also raving about how Lucas’ attitude was during his exhibition and fan-meet.

However, other K-Pop fans still weren’t impressed. In fact, others even said that the song was “definitely a skip,” a “yawn,” and one blogger even described it as being “difficult to take seriously when the rapping is so mediocre.”

For our part? No comment. Well, congratulations to Lucas on his debut!
