‘Wicked’ trailer premieres during Super Bowl 58, leaves fans spellbound

During Super Bowl 58 on Sunday, fans were treated to the long-awaited sneak peek of Director John Chu’s “Wicked.”

The trailer showcased Ariana Grande as Glinda, Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, and Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero in the magical world of Oz.

Thrilled by the news, fans shared that they eagerly waited for the cinematic adaptation of the Broadway musical.

“Wicked: Part One” is based on the 2003 Broadway musical of the same name, whose original cast included Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda and Idina Menzel as Elphaba. It is set to hit theaters on November 27, and promises to enchant audiences with its spellbinding tale of friendship, love, and magic.

With anticipation for the film growing, Grande expressed her gratitude on Instagram with a silhouette in costume, “like a handprint on my heart” to wrap up the Wicked filming.

Bailey as Fiyero also joined in with a similar photo of himself, writing “danced on through,” as a reference to the song “Dancing Through Life,” which he sang in the musical.

“Wicked: Part Two” is set to follow on November 26, 2025.
