‘I found that out later’: Rachel McAdams reveals why she wasn’t able to join the ‘Mean Girls’ reunion

Canadian Actress Rachel McAdams explained why she turned down the supposed reunion with the Plastics of “Mean Girls” including Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, and other casts of the movie.

In an interview with Variety on Wednesday, McAdams said that she was honestly not fascinated to make commercials; that she had never done advertisements; and that it does not interest her.

She also added that she “didn’t know that everyone” participated, pointing out co-stars Lohan, Seyfried, and Chabert from Tina Fey’s signature movie, Mean Girls.

“I would, of course, always love to be part of a Mean Girls reunion and hang with my Plastics,” the actress persisted. “But yeah, I found that out later.”

Walmart Ad

The commercial blends displaying Walmart’s holiday deals with classic scenes from Mean Girls, and started to air on November 1. It showcases the adult characters of North Shore High School, which includes guidance counselor, Cady Heron (Lohan), needy stage mom, Gretchen Wieners (Chabert), and a clueless weather reporter, Karen Smith (Seyfried). Rajiv Surendra as Kevin Gnapoor and Daniel Franzese as Damian also came into sight in the ad.

“It was great catching up with everyone,” Lohan told exclusively to PEOPLE. “It was wonderful to spend the day with Amanda and Lindsay,” Chabert also said. “And it was so much fun getting to reminisce and be together again.”

Moreover, Rachel McAdams latest film, “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret?” has received nominations from various critic organizations, and a specific victory from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards. She accepted the role as a “sexy mom” from the adaptation film of the iconic Judy Blume novel because she was “a very fresh second-time mom” with her daughter.

On the other hand, the Broadway-to-screen Mean Girls musical will be released by Paramount Pictures in theaters on January 12. The musical will be starring Renée Rapp, Angourie Rice, Busy Philipps, Jon Hamm, Auli’i Cravalho, Ashley Park, and Fey.
