Pop star Jessie J updates fans that she’s currently ‘unemployed’

Global pop star Jessie J recently revealed a major detail about her life.

The singer took to Instagram to reveal that she decided to part ways with her record label, Republic Records.

“I have to just be honest with who I am and what I want from my career now and how I feel – and being signed just doesn’t sit with that now,” she said.

The singer added, “There’s no negative spin, nothing’s happened, it’s not dramatic. It’s just me saying it doesn’t feel right being signed and it hasn’t for years. So, I need to stop just trusting my instincts and act on them…”

“So now I am unemployed!,” she laughed.

Jessie J is well known for her singles like “Price Tag,” “Domino,” and her smash hit “Bang Bang” featuring Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj.

The former judge of The Voice UK’s last record was in 2018 with the album entitled R.O.S.E which sadly failed to appear on any weekly chart. In the height of her fame, Jessie proved to be a diverse figure in the pop world.

After the release of “Bang Bang,” she claimed that Nicki Minaj had heard the track and demanded to be featured.

Later on, the singer was forced to apologize after Minaj tweeted that J’s comments were untrue and that her record label had both requested and paid her to jump on the track.

When her singles began to flop in the UK, she turned people’s heads when she revealed in an interview that she thought the country did not appreciate her enough. She told Women’s Health, “It makes me sad. I’ve done the Grammys, the VMAs. My profile in America is that I’m kind of celebrated as one of the greatest singers and I love it.”

She then added, “I wanna be up there with the Celine Dions, the Whitneys, the Beyoncés and Arethas.” On the other side, after confirming there was no “ill will” between Republic Records and herself, she returned to Instagram hours later to share that the label had unfollowed her on Instagram.

The star has now been focusing her attention on her family life after giving birth earlier this year. She finally revealed in June that she and her partner, basketball player Chanan Safir Colman, had named their first child Ben Shelli.
