A known social media stunt photographer died after falling off a top of a 721 ft. high skyscraper in Hong Kong.
Remi Lucidi, 30, more famously known as ‘Remi Enigma,’ has climbed the 68th floor of the 721 ft. Tregunter Tower while scaling. Unfortunately, that became his last climb after falling off the building.
Before his fatal fall, a maid in the mid-level residential block had been calling his attention by knocking on the windows of the penthouse. The maid is then convincing the young adventurer to go back inside the building before the latter falls.
Prior to reaching the 68th floor of the residential block, Lucidi told the security that his intention for heading inside is to just visit a friend that lives on the 40th floor. However, the resident from that floor denies that they know him and knows this was simply a tactic to bypass security.
Recorded surveillance footage shows that Lucidi exited the elevator when it reached the 49th floor. After exiting, he immediately took the stairs to reach the very top of the building.
On his Instagram account, there have been massive counts of posts of him clinging to the edges of tall buildings. This one in Hong Kong is supposed to add up to the series if he did not fall off the residential block.
When authorities found Lucidi’s sports camera, they discovered that the videos were all his extreme sports activities, as per a South China Morning Post report. Some of those videos are being carried over to his Instagram account which currently has more than 3,000 followers.
Some of those videos show him climbing without safety harnesses at some of the tallest structures across the globe. In one of the posts, he is seen clinging to the edge of a 980-foot-high chimney in France.
Six days prior to his unfortunate incident in Hong Kong, he posted a photo of him from Times Square in Causeway Bay there.
Lucidi was residing at a hostel in Tsim Sha Tsui. The owner told SCMP that he describes him as a ‘friendly and humble’ person.
“He was healthy and fit and happy-faced,” said Gurjit Kaur, the owner of the hostel. “He told me he was going to hike a mountain when I asked where he was going. He said he wanted to hike a lot when he was here,” he added.
Authorities also retrieved Lucidi’s passport and other belongings at the hostel. Information about the incident has now been received by the French consulate while an investigation is ongoing.
