AlDub nation on Arjo-Maine wedding: ‘That’s Maine Mendoza’s clone’

Some fans of the love team ‘AlDub’ are accusing the wedding of Arjo Atayde and Maine Mendoza to be fake, bringing their various ‘theories’ for everyone to read on the internet.

Last July 28, the celebrity couple held an intimate wedding at Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges Chapel in Baguio City, graced only by their family and friends, keeping the wedding confidential and free from media coverage.

However, it seems fans of AlDub do not want to believe that the wedding is real.

Mendoza, alongside his co-star Alden Richards, became prominent during Eat Bulaga’s “Kalyeserye” portion starring Richards as himself and Mendoza as Yaya Dub forming the fictitious love team “AlDub,” the actors went on to promote as their love team but haven’t really dated in real life – but fans of love team likes to state otherwise.

As such, after Mendoza got married, they claim that the ‘Maine’ during the wedding is a clone and that the real ‘Maine’ is married to Alden Richards and apparently already has three kids – with some claiming that the wedding didn’t really happen.

We’d like to believe these are satire, but it’s scary reading through the posts–there’s just too much attempt at truthing here:

The fandom is also using the hashtag #BOYCOTTGMAxTV5xTVJ following the recent news of Mendoza’s wedding.

This is not the first time the fandom claimed that Mendoza is already married to Richards, late last year, Mendoza confessed during an interview with Ogie Diaz that she is getting tired of messaging fans who are claiming the rumor – wherein, she clarified that her love team with Richards is strictly just onscreen.

“May mga taong hindi gusto ‘yung gano’n. Parang gusto nila na nafi-feed ‘yung imagination nila and for lack of a better term, delusion nila. Pero mas okay kasi na early on pa lang, paalam mo na ‘yong totoo,” Mendoza said. “Pwede naman tayong mag-enjoy, pwede naman tayong ma-entertain na alam natin ‘yong katotohanan na wala tayong sinasaktan or ida-damage.”
