Super Junior’s Donghae, Eunhyuk, and Kyuhun to leave SM Entertainment

Super Junior will still continue on as a full group.

On July 14, 2023, SM Entertainment announced that the members of Super Junior have renewed their contracts with them for their full-group activities. However, in terms of their individual activities, 3 members have opted not to renew their contracts with SM Entertainment.

“Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Kyuhyun have not renewed their contracts with us and will each be pursuing individual activities,” said SM Entertainment in their statement. “Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Kyuhyun will be continuing their Super Junior promotions together with SM. We will be cheering the three of them on as they take on new challenges, and we plan to communicate closely with them so that they can effectively carry out both their group activities and their solo activities at the same time.”

All the remaining members of Super Junior, Leeteuk, Kim Heechul, Yesung, Shindong, Choi Siwon, and Ryeowook, have renewed their contracts with SM Entertainment and will remain with the agency.

On the same day, entertainment agency Antenna had confirmed that Super Junior’s Kyuhyun was in talks to sign with them in a statement and also added that nothing has been decided yet.

At the same time, Eunhyuk and Donghae, also called Super Junior- D&E, are reported to have plans of establishing their own company. The two have been close friends since their trainee days, debuted as the “D&E” sub-unit of Super Junior, and have received high praise and popularity in Japan.

Eunhyuk and Kyuhyun are also set to move out of their Cheongdam-dong dorm (Super Junior’s dorm), where they have lived for about 15+ years.

ELFs had been surprised by this news but nevertheless expressed their unceasing support for the idols they loved.
