‘The World of Married’ star Han So-hee makes her debut on the big screen with the indie-GL (Girl’s Love) film ‘Heavy Snow.’
The film first premiered at the 24th Jeonju International Film Festival (JEONJU IFF) last April in South Korea, where they showcase independent and experimental films that focus on the alternative course in modern filmmaking.
According to JEONJU IFF, Heavy Snow is about Su-an (played by Han Hae-in), a performing arts high school student, who becomes close with Seol (played by Han So-hee), an actress and celebrity. The friends realized they have feelings for each other, wherein misunderstandings happen leading Seol to leave Su-an. Su-an later becomes an actress and returns to the winter sea, longing for Seol.
Director Yun Su-ik shared in an interview with a Korean entertainment site, that he chose Han because he thought “she could express the pain and the beauty that the character Seol possesses. She left an impression as a delicate, serious, and courageous actress,” he said.
The film is reported to have finished filming four years ago, during Han’s rookie years, even before her breakout role in JTBC’s The World of Married.
Han made her acting debut in 2017 in a supporting role in SBS’ Reunited Worlds, and got her first main role in MBC TV’s Money Flower the same year.
She gained more recognition for her role in JTBC’s 2020 drama, The World of Married, and has been receiving success for her following roles in JTBC’s Nevertheless, Netflix’s My Name, and Disney+ Soundtrack #1.
Han is set to star alongside Park Seo Jun in Director Jung Dong-yoon (Hot Stove League) and Writer Kang Eun-kyung’s (Dr. Romantic) Netflix series, Gyeongseong Creature, this 2023.
