Twitter to boost videos uploaded natively to the platform, says Elon Musk

Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced on Wednesday, May 3, that the platform is working to improve video uploading on the popular microblogging site.

In his tweet, Musk stated that the more time people spend viewing a post, the more that post gets boosted. He added that videos that are natively posted on Twitter will have a bigger boost.

In another tweet, the CEO also recommended to use 480p video resolution for content that is more than 10 minutes as that is suitable for people who use laptops and phones.

Major changes and adjustments have happened recently on the bird app. Two of these were the platform’s recent announcement on charging users for articles, and the subscription program for account verification, also known as Twitter Blue.

On April 29, Musk announced that the platform is set to enable media publishers to charge people for articles.

When it comes to the subscription for Twitter Blue, based on a report of New York Times last April, Twitter removed the blue check marks for users, which included public figures like politicians and celebrities.

According to a report from Forbes, Twitter later brought back the blue check marks only for accounts with more than a million followers.

A blue check mark on Twitter indicates that the identity of the account user was verified. The subscription to Twitter Blue was set at $8 per month.
