The Hive will be launching We Out Here Bar Fest at 6:9 Bar & Restaurant in Brgy. San Isidro, Cabuyao City, Laguna on March 18 to celebrate the thriving underground and indie music scene of the province.
We Out Here is an event created by The Hive in line with its first-year anniversary as a brand and as a movement. It will set the stage for homegrown artists to showcase their music. The first We Out Here Bar Fest will feature live performances from L.A. Goon$, Gnarrate, Wanton Mawi and other homegrown artists hailing from Los Banos, Sta.rosa, Calamba and Cabuyao City, Laguna.
“This is for the people. We hope that this event will have a positive impact on the music scene in Laguna and bring buzz to aspiring artists, as we aim to be the go-to platform for them,” says Daryl Omambac, co-founder of The Hive.
The Hive is aiming to build a genre-less music scene with We Out Here Bar Fest and to bring artists closer to their followers outside the metro to cater to those who want to support their favorite artists and bands but don’t have the means to go out of town to watch live shows.
“We want to make it better, more diverse, and bigger in terms of musical acts. We want to emulate what music festivals are doing, but on a smaller scale, while also showcasing non mainstream genres like hardcore and metal, as Laguna is synonymous with the hardcore scene in the country. We are also hoping to bring in artists and bands from the metro and different parts of the archipelago at future We Out Here events,” Omambac added.
The Hive is a Laguna-based DIY independent label/brand cofounded by Daryl “Werty” Omambac and Shaira Bungcag that is supporting homegrown artists and championing subcultures such as skateboarding.
