Conan Gray pours his emotions during ‘Superache Asia Tour’ in Manila

Going to concerts is one exciting experience. Aside from being in a room filled with the music you love, you’re also surrounded by people who share the same passion as you and the artist that made a huge impact in your life.

This is why concerts make some of the best memories for fans, and for Conan Gray’s fans, this was the case.

On February 18, excited fans filled up the Mall of Asia Arena as they created a night full of unforgettable memories with the “Maniac” hitmaker during his “Superache Tour Manila.” The “Superache Tour Manila” is Gray’s first concert in the Philippines, so it’s no surprise that many fans were thrilled to see the singer ever since he bursted into the music scene.

Gray, who started to show his craft in 2015 on YouTube, rose to fame when he released his debut single “Idle Town” in 2017. He then dropped one song after another and eventually released his first five-track extended play “Sunset Season” in 2018.

In 2019, the YouTuber-turned-music superstar released his debut album “Kid Krow,” which spawned some of his hit songs, namely “Maniac,” “Wish You Were Sober,” and “Heather.” The album received positive reviews from fans and critics alike for his songwriting and vocal performance.

He was also able to showcase more of his songwriting prowess when he released his sophomore album “Superache” last year. The album highlighted Gray’s unique ways of storytelling as he tackled themes such as childhood trauma, friendship, and heartbreaks. Both of his albums were able to capture his fans’ hearts and touched their emotions, and on Saturday night, he just did that.

Gray started his set on a higher note as he opened the show with “Disaster” and “Telepath,” which met with loud cheers from the audience. He then followed it up with “Fight or Flight” and “The Exit.”

“Manila, you’re so loud!” Gray exclaimed as he received a heartwarming welcome from his fans. “I’m so happy to be here in the Philippines for the very first time. You, guys, are giving me the warmest welcome.”

“We will be having so much fun tonight, but not too much fun because most of these songs are very sad,” Gray added.

True to his words, the night continued with Gray singing most of his heartbreaking songs. But despite the heartbreaking theme, his fans were all over the moon as they vibe to Gray’s “Wish You Were Sober.”

The singer-songwriter then serenaded the crowd with “Astronomy” and hyped them up with Best Friend” and “People Watching.”

Gray put everyone in a whirlwind of emotions as he performed “The Story,” “Footnote,” “Movies,” “Overdrive,” Checkmate,” “Jigsaw,” and “Family Line.”

No Conan Gray concert is complete without a solemn performance of the fan-favorite song “Heather,” with everyone reciting all the words of the song and singing their hearts out. Just like any other show, Gray’s concert had, unfortunately, ended, but the “Heather” singer made sure he capped off the night with a bang as he performed “Maniac” and “Memories.”

“You guys are so incredible. I’m so grateful that every single one of you is here with me tonight. It means so much to me,” Gray said with a huge smile on his face. While Gray may not have said this, we’re pretty sure he felt all the love from his fans during “Superache Tour Manila,” because the fans experienced the same thing.

“Superache Tour Manila” was presented by Live Nation Philippines.
