Banda Ni Kleggy tells a story about heartaches and big dreams through their latest single ‘Bahay Kubo’

We all know that Bahay Kubo is one of our country’s famous folk songs which sings about the joy and simplicity of Filipino rural life. Banda Ni Kleggy’s “ Bahay Kubo” however, is in total contrast to the folk song because it is about life’s complications brought about by heartbreaks.

The song describes a man who looks back at his entire life with a sad end with his childhood sweetheart. Bahay Kubo is an epitome of the line “almost had it all.” It is about yearning for the love that almost happened…. a push and pull with fate, allowing himself to experience the love he wanted to give with his partner, then taking it back again until his dream to love his childhood lover is in shambles and is not happening ever again.

Bahay Kubo is written by Berns Cuevas and performed by Banda Ni Kleggy and produced by Rye Sarmiento of 6cyclemind and Banda Ni Kleggy and released under Soupstar Music, distributed by Warner Music Philippines.
