Twice snags ‘Breakthrough Artist’ award at the 2023 Billboard Women in Music Festival

Twice has proven once again that they truly deserve the spotlight on the music stage!

The nine-member girl group will receive the ‘Breakthrough Artist Award’ at the forthcoming Billboard Women in Music Awards— making them the first South Korean group to receive the prestigious recognition. The said annual ceremony will be held on March 1 at the Youtube Theater, Hollywood Park in Los Angeles, California.

The Billboard Women in Music Awards were founded in 2007 to honor deserving female artists, producers, creators, and executives who have rendered impressive contributions to the music industry.

In an announcement made by JYP ENT, TWICE’s management company on Tuesday, the nine-piece act will ‘follow the footsteps of previous recipients of the award including Maren Morris, Idina Menzel, Tori Kelly, and Camila Cabello’.

In 2022, Twice made it onto the list of the top 10 best-selling albums in America with its mini-album “BETWEEN 1&2”.

Recently, the successful group released its newest single, “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE,” and has been part of multiple worldwide charts. It debuted at No. 84 on Billboard’s main singles chart this week.

Twice is a South Korean girl group established by JYP Entertainment. The group is composed of nine equally gorgeous and talented members: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. The nonet was formed under the television show ‘Sixteen’ and debuted on October 20, 2015.

The iconic K-pop girl group created a huge western breakthrough after their historic fourth world tour. Twice also became the first group from South Korea to hold a stadium concert in the U.S. Some of the girl band’s famous songs are ‘TT’, ‘Likey’, ‘Fancy’, ‘Feel Special’, ‘I Can’t Stop Me’, ‘Dance The Night Away’, ‘Cheer Up’, ‘MORE & MORE’ and ‘Alcohol-Free’.

Congratulations, Twice!
