Bondee: Is the Internet’s newest hang-out world worth the try?

No matter how toxic social media can be at times, nobody can deny how it’s become so easy to connect and reconnect with friends through this platform. Heck, one network can already be enough for one to use for all social needs—one may prefer Facebook, or Twitter, or Instagram, or even Discord.

And yet, even with the pandemic slowly dwindling down and almost everyone’s out and about, people still prefer using social media sites to pass the time. Well, anything’s possible on the internet when you think about it—you can create your own avatar, customize your own space, explore virtual spaces, and meet new people on different servers!

Now, there’s this new virtual platform that’s been grabbing everyone’s attention, and you might have seen some of your friends try it out too. Its name is Bondee and was recently launched by Singapore-based tech startup Metadream.

So, what is Bondee all about?

Bondee is a meta-universe social networking platform that allows friends to interact and chat with each other in a virtual world. In the app, you can customize your avatar to make a mini version of yourself—complete with your own space to decorate and a hang-out place for you and your friends.

Some Filipinos are already in the app themselves and are clearly having so much fun with it.

You might even be thinking that it’s so similar to ‘The Sims’ or other games. Well, you’re not completely wrong. In terms of this platform having some pros and cons, it’s still too early to say. Seeing that it’s a newly launched app, there’s bound to be more updates in the near future!

So, if you have a FOMO, might as well join in the club! There’s nothing wrong with trying out something new, anyway.
