Swifties are having a meltdown as Taylor Swift announces new music video release

Just when we thought the mayhem is over, Taylor Swift drops another surprise to her fans: a calendar that contains the schedule of “Midnights” release week, including the music video premiere of “Anti-Hero.”

Yes, you read that right. The music industry, once again, has surprised us. She never runs out of tricks up her sleeve, ‘no?

Ahead of the release of her 10th studio album, “Midnights,” the Grammy Award-winning artist uploaded a 30-second clip on TikTok showing the album’s release week schedule.

“Mark your calendars! Meet the Midnights Manifest,” her caption read.

The schedule includes a release of a teaser trailer, “a special very chaotic surprise,” release of lyric videos, and talk show appearances, among others.

But what made the Swifties sent into a frenzy was the mention of the music video premiere of her track, “Anti-Hero,” which appeared to be the lead single off her new album.

“Anti-Hero” being the lead single of the album didn’t somehow come up as a surprise since Swift revealed that it’s one of her favorite songs she has written. According to the singer, the track tackles her insecurities.

“I really don’t think I’ve delved this far into my insecurities in this detail before,” Swift said in a video clip she posted on her Instagram account. “You know, I struggle a lot with the idea that my life has become unmanageably sized, and not to sound too dark, I just struggle with the idea of not feeling like a person.”

The superstar went on to describe that the track is a “guided tour” of the things she tends to hate about herself.

“We all hate things about ourselves, and it’s all of those aspects of the things we dislike and like about ourselves that we have to come to terms with if we’re going to be this person,” she explained. “Yeah, I like ‘Anti-Hero’ a lot because I think it’s really honest.”

Other than the music video premiere of “Anti-Hero,” another thing caught Swifties’ attention. The music industry will also drop a second music video on October 25.

As Swift didn’t give that much detail on which track from the album will be getting a music video treatment, her fans predicted that the second music video is for “Vigilante Sh*t.” This theory was made after many fans pointed out that during Swift’s “Midnights Mayhem with Me” series, the singer held the phone upside down when she revealed the track titles “Anti-Hero” and “Vigilante Sh*t.”

Well, leave it to us, Swifties, to find Easter eggs in everything Swift does.
