Twitter has just added a feature for everyone to use, called the Twitter Circle. In this feature, a user can share certain tweets with a select number of people.
It works like the “close friends” feature in the stories of Instagram in that the user is sharing content with only trusted people who might not share their deepest darkest Twitter secrets. A Twitter user can select up to 150 people in their circle, and only those people can view, like, and reply to any tweet in the said circle.
To use this feature, a user needs to open the tweet composer, go to the drop-down menu at the top area of the composer, and then choose “Twitter Circles.” Here, a user can also click “Edit” to add anyone in their Twitter Circle, even those who don’t follow them. When a user tweets in their Twitter Circle, a little green box would show this text below:
“Only people in @username’s Twitter Circle can see this Tweet”
This new feature makes it easier to share private information with the people closest to you. Seeing that many people use Twitter as somewhat of a public diary, this feature would be very useful for many of those users.
